I always start off by washing and conditioning my hair at night. When I get out of the shower, i apply an anti-frizz and humidity serum (citrushine), and then Garnier Fructise's Curling Gel-Cream mix. I comb out my hair with a fine toothed comb, and part it the way I want my hair to part, and then I put a bit of an acutal Gel in it, and braid it in three different sections like this:
The top braid is a bit more towards the side my hair parts on.
After I finish each braid, I secure it with a bobby pin, becuase hair bands create weird lines in my hair. If your hair will not stay with just bobby pins, try really tiny rubber bands that are meant for braids, and wrap them maybe twice or three times. If you're still up when It's partially dry, I would take out the rubber bands, and let the hair finish drying, because the braids should hold by then. If you just go straight to sleep, when you wake up in the morning and take out the rubber bands, and there's a line in the braid, just put a bit of water on it, and it should turn out fine. I usually just go to bed though, because the bobby pins look fine when I let them out.
!hen I wake up and take out the braids, I shake out my hair a bit to loosen the waves, and these are the results! :)
Good luck with this, and if you try it, post picutres of the results! I want to see :)
